Alumnus Santiago Rodas
Santiago Rodas had worked in many places across the world before he came to Wageningen to specialise in epidomology and public health.
I’ve learned how to conduct research and how to build up relationships with people in different countries.
He participated in a UNICEF programme that focused on preventing aenemia and growth problems in Ecuador. He also worked as a consultant for the World Food Programme in Thailand and attended training sessions in Rome.
Yet, Santiago felt like he was missing something despite all this work experience: a scientific background. And that is why he decided to come to Wageningen, his best decision up until today:“Wageningen University is open to what you need and supplies you with it. That’s very practical. I’ve learned how to conduct research and how to build up relationships with people in different countries. This makes it easier to intergrate in new, other cultural environments, and that is incredibly valuable to me.”
Santiago has acquired a taste for science in Wageningen; he is looking forward to pursuing a PhD here as well!
