Maurizio – Global Sustainability Data Analyst – Graduate Program McCain Foods – November 2022

Hi everyone! My name is Maurizio and I work as Global Sustainability Data Analyst for McCain Foods. My journey with McCain started as an intern in September 2021, while I was finishing my master’s in plant sciences at Wageningen University and Research.

How did I come to know McCain Foods in the first place? Well, thanks to the online Talk & (unfortunately due to the Covid-19 restrictions not) Toast organized by the Student Career Services (SCS). During that event, I had the opportunity to know more about the company’s futuristic and sustainable vison, and ethic and inclusive mission. I found an instant connection with the business model of the company, and I became even more excited when they presented their world-wide internship opportunities!

I am very thankful to the SCS, not only for organizing this event that signalled the beginning of my career at McCain Foods, but also for providing me with indispensable assistance to complete and support my internship application. Indeed, during the months that followed the Talk & Toast with McCain, I attended several events organized by the SCS to polish my CV, set up a relevant LinkedIn account, write a true motivation letter, and promote myself with an outstanding elevator pitch.

If I were asked to advise students currently looking for an internship, I would definitely recommend attending as many events organized by the SCS as possible. I guarantee that if you make active use of their great support, you will never miss your future opportunity!
