Firstly, I would like to start by saying that I really enjoyed my time at the chairgroup of Nematology. Having the chance to write my master thesis at a department with so many open, caring, and helpful people was a pleasure.

Looking back at my thesis, I couldn’t have wished for a better chairgroup to write my master thesis at!
For my master thesis I wanted to do something with plant-pathogen interactions in relation to resistance research. My project was based on a previously conducted transcriptome study by one of my supervisors for her PhD manuscript. The main task was to confirm and support the transcriptome study through quantitative validation using RT-qPCR. In addition, I investigate some downstream signaling genes of the transcriptome study for their role in Gpa2-mediated resistance in potato against Globodera pallida.
The results of my thesis were very promising and provide me the chance to assist my supervisor Qi Zheng in publishing one of her manuscript chapters. This was my first publication feature, so I was very thankful for that opportunity.
During the times where my experiments failed, or I needed some more help, my supervisors were always there to assist me but also the lab staff and other students. Looking back at my thesis, I couldn’t have wished for a better chairgroup to write my master thesis at!
