Vacancy
Analist Virologische Serologie (VSL)
Your job
Do you have a completed MLO or HLO education and are you ready for a new challenge as a virological serology analyst for animal diseases in an inspiring and dynamic environment? Do you want to develop yourself in virological diagnostics? With us, you can contribute to a healthy living environment for both humans and animals!
What will you do?We, Wageningen Bioveterinary Research (WBVR), are looking for an enthusiastic analyst to strengthen our close-knit Virological Serology (VSL) team. As a VSL analyst, you will work with your colleagues to perform diagnostics on large numbers of samples to screen for animal diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease or avian influenza. You will be involved in a wide range of classical virological tests, such as virus neutralization tests (VNTs), hemagglutination tests, and virus isolations, which are carried out in both BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratories. Several cell lines are maintained in culture for many of these tests. Since most of these are classical virological tests, the majority of them are performed manually. Additionally, you may be flexibly assigned to other departments within WBVR or asked to assist during outbreaks of animal diseases.
The work will take place in buildings that require additional quarantine restrictions after leaving (based on EU regulations). This means that keeping cloven-hoofed animals is not allowed. Furthermore, for 72 hours after performing these tasks, you are not permitted to have contact with these animals or visit poultry production facilities.
