Adedotun Owolabi is a food and nutrition security devotee with strong and demonstrable competence and experience in collaborating with various stakeholders, including government officials, research institutes, development partners, civil society actors.
He is a graduate of food and Science and Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He also holds a masters degree in human nutrition from the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
He is a recipient of an excellence award by Nigerian Top Executives in the medicine and Pharmaceuticals industry in the 2015 publication and rating, based on his international network strength.
He was selected by the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland to participate in the 2015 edition of the Graduate Study program and was involved in the final drafting of the proposal pf World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty (WACAP) which was used at the steering committee meeting in Macau, China.
In his time at FrieslandCampina, he worked as a Head of Nutrition and doubled as country representative of Frieslandcampina Institute in Nigeria. He is also an external Ph.D. student at the Department of Human Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands.
His career objective is to be a global public health nutritionist of repute contributing to the improvement of nutritional challenges across Nigeria, the African Continent, and beyond through collaborative research, training, and excellent practices.
Throughout his career, he has been able to generate new nutrition knowledge through research, apply this new knowledge to the highest quality healthcare for the prevention and treatment of illness among vulnerable target groups such as children, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, and the elderly.
He has the passion to provide the best possible nutrition education and guidance to the next generation of nutritionists, Dieticians, and other health professionals interested in childhood disease prevention, treatment, research, and advocate for the important nutritional policy formulation culture among policymakers in Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large
