After I graduated from Wageningen University (2014, Molecular Life Sciences), I continued in Wageningen with a PhD at the department of Genetics. Next to my PhD research I enjoyed science communication by for instance taking part in the pitching competition Famelab. Also, I have gotten to know the ins and outs of the WUR as PhD representative and chair of the central participatory body (WUR Council).

Now, as a PhD Programme Coordinator at graduate school PE&RC, I contribute to the learning experience of all PhD candidates in our programme, to facilitate their professional and personal development into independent academics.

For those who are interested: I did my PhD research on fungus-growing termites. If you want me to explain more about these intriguing little creatures, just click on the movie below to see the pitch I gave at the national final of FameLab (a science communication competition).
