Sandra Abbo wins Zika virus poster award
Sandra Abbo has received the best poster award at the 2nd International conference on Zika virus, in Tallinn, Estonia. Sandra is a PhD candidate at the Laboratory of Virology of Wageningen University, where she conducts research within the ZonMw-funded project ‘ZikaRisk’. She investigates whether or not Dutch mosquitoes can transmit Zika virus. Sandra has won the poster award for her work on the development of a safe Zika vaccine, which is based on virus-like particles from insect cells.
