dr. BI (Birgit) de VosSenior researcher human rights in agri-food supply chains
Birgit de Vos works as a senior researcher at Wageningen Economic Research and The Sustainability Consortium. She has a master's degree in cultural anthropology (Radboud University Nijmegen) and a master's degree in Environmental Policy (Wageningen University).
Birgit conducts research into human rights in international chains and advises companies on how to improve them (due diligence). Among other things, she has developed a human rights risk scan (called Wageningen Humanity Views) that allows companies to see in which countries and sectors (eg cocoa, coffee, palm oil, sugar, cotton, nuts and rice) they are at risk of violations.
