Lodewijk Stuyt
Dr Lodewijk Stuyt has worked as a hydrologist, drainage engineer and international consultant (including FAO) on agricultural drainage systems for 40 years, with an emphasis on identifying and solving operational problems and stimulating innovations, including the introduction of controlled drainage in the Netherlands. His PhD thesis (1992) yielded design specifications for drain envelopes that are still used in many European countries. In 2020, Dr Stuyt developed a mobile device for measuring flow rates through submerged drain outlets in field ditches (both drainage and subirrigation); see https://www.fource-now.com.
