dr. SM (Sol Maria) Halleck Vega
Universitair docentI am an Assistant Professor in the Urban Economics group at WUR. I have a Ph.D. and Research Master (cum laude) from the Department of Economics, Econometrics & Finance, Faculty of Economics & Business, University of Groningen.
My main areas of expertise are energy transition, urban/regional climate and economic resilience, regional labor markets, socioeconomic inequalities, and regional policy. Methodologically, I have expertise in applied and spatial econometrics, network analysis, and input-output analysis.
I enjoy collaborating with people from different disciplines, and have worked in France, the Netherlands, the UK, and the USA. I was also a visiting scholar at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna.
Prior to joining WUR, I was a Research Fellow at the Land, Environment, Economics & Policy Institute and the Paris School of Economics/Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. From 2016-2018 in Paris, I was a member of the EU Green-Win project on climate change actions and sustainable development.
