This event will facilitate healthy and critical discussion amongst scholars and students alike on how to engage with the current global crisis of climate change to which international travel is a major contributor. Travel/tourism’s role in climate change has not been given much attention within WUR, in particular in education. By connecting this seminar with ongoing experiments in online education, this seminar will provide practical examples of how we can better disseminate and visualize this topic to a growing online learning community. The seminar includes three presentations and a debate with:

Martin Gren (Linnaeus University)
"PLANETARY STATE OF EMERGENCY AND TOUR-ISM"

Paul Peeters (Breda University of Applied Sciences)
"LONG-TERM SCENARIOS FOR ZERO-EMISSIONS TOURISM"

Rosa Hofgartner (Sail to the COP)
"MOVEMENT BUILDING & WHAT’S NEXT AFTER THE COP?"
