Bart van den Borne graduated as an animal scientist from Wageningen University in 2004. After working at a research institute for 1 year, he started a PhD on the epidemiology of bovine mastitis at Utrecht University which he completed in 2010. In the same year, he started a postdoc on the epidemiology of bovine mastitis at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Upon his return to the Netherlands in 2016, Bart worked at a number of research institutes after which he started a postdoc position in the Business Economics Group in 2018. Since 2020, he works as a lecturer, both at the Business Economics Group and the Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology Group researching the epidemiology and economics of animal health.
