How do I find and get books?
Use WUR Library Search to search for books. Search by title, author or subject. On the left side you will find options to refine your results. Choose format Book to show only books and reports in WUR Library Search.
Forum Books
Under 'Availability' you can see the holding summary. Forum Books are located on the open shelves in Forum Library. Write down the call number and then get the book yourself at the corresponding shelf in the Library. Don't forget to check it out!
WUR staff can request the book to be sent to their office address by clicking on the 'Get it' button. Then, choose the link 'Submit a copy or loan request for this book'.
Leeuw books
Leeuw Books can be requested by clicking on the 'Get it' button in WUR Library Search. Then, choose the link 'Submit a copy or loan request for this book'. Students can pick up the book at the lending desk in Forum Library. Books for staff will be sent to their office.
When a book is out on loan, WUR staff and students can make a reservation. Click on 'Get it', and then on 'Submit a copy or loan request for this book. Books on the open shelves (floors 3-4) can't be requested in advance.
Forum Stacks
Books from Forum Stacks have to be requested from the closed stacks in the Library's basement. Books are ready to be picked up within one hour after the request. To request a book from the stacks, click on the blue 'Get it' button. In the next window, click on 'Submit a copy or loan request for this book'.
After that, choose the option 'I will collect this publication from Forum Library' (for students) or 'I order a photocopy or request a loan via Wageningen UR Library' (staff only). A form to order the publication from our stacks appears. You can pick up the publication(s) you requested every hour on the hour at the lending desk at Forum Library.
NOTE that the stacks close at 5 pm and are not open in the evening or during the weekend. Publications requested after office hours (Monday to Friday 9 am till 5 pm) are available the next working day.
Books not available in WUR Library
You can order photocopies or request a loan for books we don't have in our Library collection. For students this is not a free service. You can find more information here.
