Big Data
This seminar, Hans van Trijp will present the COMFOCUS project, an interesting and valuable project, because it will create a community on food consumer science. This project is unique in interconnecting different datasets into big data. We invited the 3 special professors on data science at WDCC: Anna Fensel, Ioannis Athanasiadis and Ricardo Torres, who are asked to participate in a panel discussion to discuss specific questions coming from the COMFOCUS project. After that we would like to start an open discussion with all of you, of how you are/aren’t integrating (big) data into your work.
Our goals of the meeting are threefold: 1. Connect data users/researchers within our section; 2. Connect people from the section to special professors; and 3. Make sure that we use each other’s knowledge concerning (big) data usage in research and beyond.
This interesting seminar is open for all! We will do this in blended form (physically and online). Some people can join this seminar in person in The Leeuwenborch at B0067. Lunch will be offered there too. Until today in this room only 20 people are allowed, but we expect that we are allowed to host more people there, since it seems that measures will loosen up.
