Mindi Schneider interviewed Dr. Ulbe Bosma about his new book, "The Making of a Periphery: How Island Southeast Asia Became a Mass Exporter of Labor" for the International Institute of Social History (IISH) podcast.
The book is a wide-ranging comparative study of colonial commodity production and labor regimes, linking this history to contemporary labor migration in Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
