Carolina Valladares does her PhD research on 'The Politics of Ideas for Leaving Fossil Fuels Underground'. She looks at the cases of social mobilization to stop oil extraction in Ecuador and gas extraction in The Netherlands, with attention to the actors, strategies, and networks involved as well as the proposals and debates these movements rise. She works on topics related to political ecology, social mobilization, extractive industries, and the rights of nature.
