I am an animal nutritionist, currently working on one of the main aquaculture species, the Nile tilapia. My PhD project is a collaboration between the Aquaculture and Fisheries, Experimental Zoology and Animal Nutrition groups of Wageningen University. Our project aims at gaining understading in muscle growth dynamics and nutritional requirements of Nile tilapia. The project outcomes should allow improvements in tilapia feed formulation thereby contributing to improved resource-use efficiency on tilapia farms.
Before starting my PhD I graduated from Wageningen University (Master of Animal Sciences) and obtained an engineer degree in agriculture at the Ecole Supérieure d'Agricultures d'Angers (France).
My direct supervisor is Dr. Ir. Johan Schrama
