Vera followed her training in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University. She first obtained her Bachelor's degree and then completed her Master's degree with a specialisation in Nutritional physiology and health status. She did her Internship in Hospital Gelderse Vallei in Ede. Ather her studies, she started her PhD on Vitamin D and inflammation in relation to colorectal cancer diagnosis. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher on the Regio Deal Foodvalley, in which she will continue to investigate the role of nutrition and lifestyle on cancer outcomes.
My research interest focus on the role of diet, nutrition and other lifestyle factors in the progression cancer. My ambition is to further unravel underlying mechanisms for the associations between diet and lifestyle and cancer by combining epidemiology and biological biomarkers.
