Small business owners that produce homemade products such as jam or ice cream often find it difficult to comply with all the demands of a recognised food safety system. This is why a hygiene code for local products is currently being developed.
Researchers at Wageningen UR made a digital questionnaire that guides producers through the different food safety regulations that apply to them. The questionnaire makes it easier to produce safe ice cream for a growing group of consumers of local products. This is how Wageningen UR contributes to improving the quality of life.
