The Horizon 2020 project ACTTiVAte is successfully finalized. Wageningen Economic Research has participated in this 3 years project. The overall concept of the ACTTiVAte project was to support innovation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and foster the smart reindustrialization of Europe by enabling the emergence of new cross-border and cross-sectoral value chains resulting from the translation of advanced technologies among selected sectors with strong synergies.

The cross-over innovation was between four sectors: aerospace, health, agri-food, ICT across five countries: Spain, Portugal, The Netherlands, Ireland and Poland. 50 SME's received funding for their projects (top 30 SMEs €46000 and 20 runner-up SMEs €6000), 11 of them are from The Netherlands.

The Digital Enterprise Show in Madrid has been the framework chosen by ACTTiVAte to celebrate its final conference under the title ‘Fostering cross-sectoral technology transfer in Europe: Lessons and prospects from the European project ACTTiVAte‘ with the assistance of the most relevant actors and a selected number of companies funded by this initiative.

Next to Wageningen Economic Research, AgriFood Capital and OostNL participated in ACTTiVAte as a Dutch cluster. The innovations developed by the Dutch SMEs within ACTTiVate project are presented on Youtube
