2103 Enhancing Poultry in Ghana
Ghana is very committed to support private investors in the agricultural sector. The government supports the development of the poultry sector to create jobs and employment. The poultry sector has to be revitalized to boost local production and replace imports of poultry meat.
At the moment many poultry farmers in Ghana have poor performance (high mortality and lower production) of the birds often caused by sub-optimal housing conditions, poor diets and poor animal health. The effort of the Dutch companies with good equipment, advice and customized innovations will result in an more efficient production at lower costs and at the same time improved animal health and animal welfare.
The main goal of this project is a sustainable and self-sufficient production of poultry meat and eggs in Ghana.
