Waterbeschikbaarheid (kwantiteit en kwaliteit)

Water governance and analysis at water basin level Water demand and allocation of water have to be dealt with at the river basin level, because at this level allocation of water for different water users at different locations (upstream and downstream) can be made.

Water-using industry (e.g. beverage industry) is assessing the water supply around their production facilities to ensure availability of water in the long run. In water scarce regions they are improving their water use efficiency and optimize regional water allocation in regional processes.
Policy questions amongst others:

  • How affects change in diet the crop mix and agricultural water demand?
  • What is impact of restricted water availability for agriculture for food production?
  • What is optimal allocation of water across various crops within a region?
