Bringing the discipline of art-making into the campus requires a close connection with those inhabiting it. Wageningen University & Research aims to strengthen the collaboration with The Centre of Expertise (CoE) Future Makers, in order to stimulate innovation and cross-overs (arts and science) in the field of sustainable fashion and design.
CoE Future Makers is a collaboration between the ArtEZ University of the Arts, other (applied) universities in the Netherlands, designers and entrepreneurs. Together they aim to develop sustainable value chains for human and the environment based on new, sustainable materials and to innovate production technology and sustainable (re)use in the field of fashion, product and interior design.
Therefore, we started the collaboration "The New Luxury". In study year 17/18 we collaborate within 5 Academic Consultancy Training (ACT) projects. After each ACT period the WUR students will present the results of the ACT project at Impulse and an overall presentation will be given in cooperation with ArtEZ in 2018. Furthermore, we aim to link the results to the State of Fashion ‘The New Luxury’ exhibition in Arnhem (June 2018), the activities of Circular Economy Student Hub Wageningen (CESH) and research programmes at Wageningen University & Research.
