Pim Knuiman was born on March 27th, 1984 in Wageningen, the Netherlands. In 2007 he started the study Exercise and Health in Nijmegen to obtain his Bachelors degree. During the final phase, he wrote a thesis assessing different exercise profiles on lactate metabolism in humans. For his master's degree he went to Maastricht University to obtain a Master in Human Movement Sciences. During his Master, he wrote a thesis examining the effects of protein intake on immobilization related skeletal muscle loss. In March 2015, Pim started working as a PhD student at the division of Human Nutrition at Wageningen University & Research. Here he will focus on the effect of nutrition on skeletal muscle adaptations with exercise, from molecule to performance.
