Zhe Cheng is a Ph.D. candidate in the Food Quality and Design group.
Born in Wuhan, China and got her master degree from the College of Food Science and Technology, Huazhong Agricultural University. Her previous research was about biochemical compounds of citrus and tea, controlled release emulsion systems for phytochemicals and in vitro digestion.
From September 2020, she works as a Sandwich PhD student, under the supervision of Dr. Matthijs Dekker and Dr. Jenneke Heising. Her research topic is active packaging technology for fresh meat preservation, aiming to develop a novel and controlled release packaging film with the ability to enhance meat quality and extend the shelf life of fresh meat during storage.
