Dr Lawrence Jones-Walters is Head of Biodiverse Environment Programme at Wageningen Environmental Research (Alterra) WUR, the Netherlands. Skilled in strategic level organisational management (at Director level); the rapid establishment and maintenance of high level strategic relations; extensive experience of international project and programme management; more than 20 years experience of international work in Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and North America. Current member and previous chair of the EEA Topic Centre for Biodiversity. A regular contributor to international forums and conferences, developing the international policy agenda in relation to biodiversity including several policy-relevant recent publications. A highly effective communicator - verbal and written (able to talk convincingly about a range of relevant subjects), a native English speaker and a recognised expert in knowledge based facilitation and moderation, including high-level international meetings and extensive work on participative biodiversity/ ecotourism action planning. He gained his PhD in conservation management, has an MSc in Applied Entomology and an MBA.
