ALBATROSS is a film about humanity told through the plight of a population of seabirds. It is a powerful visual journey into the heart of a gut-wrenching environmental tragedy. It is also a love story — a film that speaks to human emotion, challenging our complicity in the face of destruction and calling for a re-examination of the interconnected role we play within the global ecosystem.

The story documents the newly-emerging issue of ocean plastic pollution and the stunning environmental tragedy taking place on Midway Island. It is a tiny atoll in the center of the vast North Pacific Ocean where thousands of young albatrosses lay lifeless on the ground, their stomachs filled with plastic.

Join us for an intriguing evening at Impulse, followed by a discussion on our plastic consumption. How to tackle this global issue? WUR researcher dr. Judith van Leeuwen will accompany us, sharing her recent work on plastics.
