EP-Nuffic is organizing a thematic alumni event with a focus on water in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 26 and 27 October 2016. In this two-day conference we will take a close look at the challenges that are posed to sustainable development and livelihood in one of the largest deltas in the world: the Mekong Delta. There will be plenty of opportunity to network with fellow alumni.
The alumni event will take place over two days and will focus on Water. A large part of the event will be filled with sessions that focus on “direct man-made impacts” versus “indirect man-made impacts” on sustainable development and livelihood in the Mekong Delta. A number of speeches, case studies and/or workshops on this theme will be presented and worked on.
Poster presentations – We would like to give a number of you the opportunity to present your personal projects, related to the theme of the conference, in a poster session.
Alumni network and thematic cooperation
The event is meant to strengthen the existing alumni network in Vietnam and to set up a thematic network in Water. And of course there will be plenty of opportunity to network with fellow alumni.
This event is primarily meant for NFP alumni from Vietnam involved in water. The event will also be open to guests from the Netherlands Embassy and Consulate, (Dutch) higher education institutions and the Dutch business community in the region. We highly value your motivation for taking part in this event and base our selection on your drivers for participation.
Within the Holland Alumni programme, EP-Nuffic stimulates international students and alumni to not only be part of a broader Netherlands Alumni Association but also to form networks or chapters based on discipline, sector or theme. These networks will operate within the Holland Alumni network.
In 2016 and 2017, alumni events are organized to stimulate the set-up and maintenance of these thematic networks and create clearer links between alumni, relevant (Dutch) educational institutions and relevant Dutch organisations. Moreover, these events can provide long-term support and contacts for alumni who encounter subject specific challenges in their everyday work.
