Royal Institute for the Tropics (KIT), iCRA, AERES Group, Woord en Daad, and Wageningen Centre for Development Innovation kindly invite you to participate in the launch of the project titled "Renforcer la formation pour l'emploi dans les chaînes Agro-Alimentaires au Bénin" (capacity building for employment in agro-food chains in Benin). The project will be implemented from 1 July 2019 to 31 December 2021, within the framework of the Orange Knowledge Programme funded by The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The project aims to reinforce the staff and curriculum of 10 agricultural vocational schools ('lycées agricoles') to become more labor market oriented and entrepreneurial.
Aim and expected outcome of the meeting
- Introducing the project and the key consortium partners to the audience;
- Providing an opportunity to key stakeholders, to participate and contribute with ideas and opinions on how to improve the linkage between vocational education and practice in businesses, farms and development organisations
- Likewise, exchange ideas about which value chains in Benin could potentially offer the best opportunities for employment of alumni of the TVETs. Identifying priorities for improvement of curriculums
- Civil society organisations, knowledge Institutes, agri-businesses, policy makers, Beninese diaspora organisations, experts on food and nutrition security, development of TVETs in Africa and in The Republic of Benin in particular
The outcome of the meeting, the suggestions and recommendations of the various stakeholders will be taken into account during the implementation of the project. In October this year the kick off in the Republic of Benin will take place.
