Creative innovation: 'Uncommon materiality' by Basse Stittgen

What do blood, egg and hemp have in common? They can all be turned into an environmentally friendly plastic by utilizing the binding properties of one protein contained in them - albumin. Explore, together with Basse Stittgen, the possibilities of seemingly unrelated matter through a lense of material & making. Followed by a debate about ethics and the implications of using base materials like blood, egg and hemp.

For the 100 years WUR activity Creative innovation: Art meets Science WUR has selected a group of artists who will visit our campus for two months each. Together with the knowledge and skills of scientists, PHD-ers, teachers and students from the five different science groups they will engage in creative innovation with an art project as the end result.
