The Kurdish struggle for survival is a recurring theme in modern history. The capture of the Syrian-Kurdish enclave Afrin by Turkish forces and the Free Syrian Army is a new dimension in the conflict.
This night, the award-winning documentary Radio Kobanî will be screened and Reber Dosky, the maker of the film, is present for a Q&A!
Radio Kobanî is a story about the battle over the Kurdish city Kobanî. Reber Dosky traveled to Kobanî in 2014, in the heat of the fight against the Islamic State. On his trip, he met the 20-year old Kurdish girl Dilovan who decided to start a radio station in the smoke and dust of the battle. She documented the final days of IS control, and despite all the horror, tells an inspiring story about resistance.
