Dynamic reorganization of microtubule networks: building the new by breaking down the old

In my thesis, I studied the reorganization of the cortical microtubule array – a network of polymers that gives shape and maintains the structure of the cells of the plants, from a theoretical perspective. I used mathematical modelling to describe the reorientation of the array from a transverse to a longitudinal direction with respect to the growth direction of the cell. My thesis explains the underlying mechanisms behind the reorientation of the array.
