ESN’s Virtual Nematology Conference 2021 from May 26th to May 28th, 2021

Objective:

In the absence of live meetings in 2020 and 2021, it is difficult for many PhD candidates and postdocs in nematology to present their thesis research at a formal scientific conference and to start building an international network of collaborators.

To support the current cohort of early-stage researchers, the European Society of Nematologists will organize a virtual nematology conference in 2021 (VNC 2021) specifically for PhD candidates and postdocs.

Scope:

The scope of the VNC 2021 will be broad and covering all aspects of nematology, ranging from nematode genomes to multitrophic interactions involving nematodes in complex ecosystems.

Target group:

PhD candidates and postdocs within the ESN community.

Timeline:

  • March 1st registration opens
  • April 12th final date to submit an abstract for speakers
  • April 26th speakers notified
  • May 12th registration closes
  • May 26th - May 28th VNC2021

Program and schedule:

Online meetings can be physically and mentally more demanding than live meetings. Therefore, the plenary talks, parallel sessions, and workshops will only be in the afternoons from 13:00 – 18:00 h CET.

Location:

The VNC 2021 will take place fully online.

Registration:

Registration for the event is free of charge. However, registration is only open for students and postdocs of current ESN members.

Clicking on the link below will take you to the registration form. In case you want to present your work at the VNC2021, you will be asked to provide a short summary of your presentation (max 100 words). This summary will only be used to assign speakers to thematically organised sessions. In the registration form you can also indicate if your thesis supervisor wants to participate in the event.
