Joris Luyendijk, celebrated author, journalist and anthropologist will share his insights into how dangerous the global financial sector really is, how close to the brink it took all of us in 2008 and why so little has changed since then.

Drawing on 200 interviews with financial insiders in the City of London, Europe's financial centre, the author of the NS public’s choice book award “Swimming with Sharks: My Journey Into the World of the Bankers” (in Dutch - Dit kan niet waar zijn. Onder bankiers), will focus on the architecture of the global financial sector, arguing that bankers are not monsters but banks certainly are monstrous organizations. A unique opportunity to hear how insiders themselves talk about the system they are caught up in and where change might come from.
