The world suffers from serious risks ranging from threats to peace and security, through massive human rights violations to existential challenges due to climate change and loss of biodiversity as the natural resource shrinks.Today, Dr. A.L. Dahl will give a talk about his proposals and some scenarios for realizing them.
With two colleagues Dr. A.L. Dahl won the New Shape Prize of the Global Challenges Foundation in 2018 for their proposals on reforming the United Nations (UN), giving it the capacities to address critical global issues.
Proposals include a legislative capacity in a reformed UN General Assembly with proportional representation complemented by a World Parliamentary Assembly, a reinforced organization for climate change would establish binding limits on greenhouse gas emissions, and many others.
