Studium Generale, the Arq Center of Excellence on War, Persecution and Violence and Theatre Production Getekend/ Marked Present: 'Impacts of Conflict Across Generations' with Emeritus Prof. Rolf Kleber (UU), Bart Nauta (Arq) and Inez Schelfhout (Centrum '45).

An explosive societal problem or a deep rooted family matter? What is the inter-generational impact of conflict and what do we know about the science of measuring conflict's impact on individuals and on their relationships with subsequent generations? Emeritus Prof. Rolf Kleber, (Clinical Psychologist UU) explores what we know about intergenerational trauma. He is joined by Inez Schelfhout (Centrum ‘45) and Bart Nauta (Arq Center of Excellence on War, Persecution and Violence). As psychologist and therapist at Centrum '45, Inez sheds light on conflict traumas from the perspective of the individual. She not only tailors treatments for individuals suffering from conflict traumas, but speaks from her own third generation experience. Historian Bart Nauta has researched the intergenerational societal implications of conflict and the invisible scars of war in communities over time. Explore the cutting edge of multidisciplinary research towards understanding the social impact of conflict and how to heal the wounds years after hostilities have ceased. This programme is presented in the run up to the theatre production GETEKEND/ MARKED. Tickets on sale now. Student discount price www.getekendwageningen.nl
