On Thursday 12 September 2019 Wageningen University & Research (WUR) and the National Coordinator for International Functions (NCIF) organize an outreachday with International Organizations (IO’s) specialised in agriculture, food and foodsecurity. The purpose of this day is to inform you about job opportunities at IOs, to increase your knowledge about the organizations, to give practical tips on how to prepare for a job at an IO and to make you enthusiastic about working there. The Food and Agricultural Organization, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the World Food Program, the World Health Organization and the International Fund for Agricultural Development will be present at this outreach event.
The day will begin with a plenary opening with a brief introduction of the IOs. After this, there will be several break-out sessions. In these sessions, the IOs will talk about their own organization, how the application procedures work and how you can best prepare for them. Between the break-out sessions there will be master classes on various topics, for example about professionalizing a CV. The day will be concluded by a plenary discussion with WUR President Prof. dr. Louise O. Fresco, who has worked at the FAO for ten years. We conclude with a reception.
Are you a (master) student, PhD candidate, junior or mid-career professional and are you interested in working at an international organization? Then sign up for this Information Day on 12 September 2019. We have a preference for Dutch participants; participants with a different nationality are also welcome. Please register by sending an e-mail with an English CV to email@example.com. If you include a CV, you agree that it can be shared with the participating IOs. If you do not want this, please inform firstname.lastname@example.org. Information about the meeting location will follow after you have registered.
We hope to see you on Thursday 12 September 2019!
