The 2014 Wageningen iGEM was amazingly successful (http://2014.igem.org/Team:Wageningen_UR). However, next year will be a new competition and it is time to start to form the 2015 Wageningen iGEM team. iGEM stands for international Genetically Engineering Machine competition (http://igem.org/Main_Page). It is a yearly organized international synthetic biology competition for university students based on standard biological parts. This year 245 teams from 32 different countries (undergraduate and graduate division) subscribed to iGEM with in total 4800 participants.
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic students who do not fear to be challenged. Being part of the iGEM team is demanding but it is an extraordinary experience. Synthetic Biology is an interdisciplinary endeavor. It does not matter if you are more into mathematical modeling or designing and performing experiments or into human outreach or fundraising. We will need many different types of talents. If you are interested please join the kick-off meeting on Dec. 1st 2014 at 12:30-13:30 in C3033 (Orion building).
