‘Kinship and Society - an anthropological systems approach’
Dr. Heady is a renowned scholar on the subject of kinship and social security. He has been the coordinator of the multi-disciplinary ‘Kinship and Social Security’ project (KASS), supported by the EU. Recently, he started a new and innovative project on kinship and affinity in Africa and Eurasia, called ‘Kinship Universals and Variation’ (KUV). This project emphasises the role of kinship studies as the centre-piece of a natural science of society.
