'Agriculture central to poverty eradication'
Dr Adesina is the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Government of Nigeria. He is also candidate for President of the African Development Bank. During the past couple of years, Dr Adesina has concentrated his energy on the transformation of the Agricultural sector of Nigeria. According to the Minister, ‘poverty is not a tradable commodity’ and agriculture is central to poverty eradication in Africa. In his opinion, agriculture is a business concern and not a development issue.
