Georgina Bustelo on Grand Piano and Olaf Borsboom on violin
Georgina Bustelo obtained a Master in Piano Performance at the University of Florida, USA, where she studied with Dr. Kevin Robert Orr. As a student at the University of Florida, she was awarded with an “Outstanding Academic Achievement” mention, and she participated in “Valtidone International Music Festival” in Italy and in several master classes given by international recognized professors.
She finished her undergraduate studies at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in Mendoza, Argentina, where she got with honors a bachelor diploma in piano performance under the instruction of Professor Roberto Urbay. During her undergraduate studies she was finalist at the XII International Piano competition “Claudio Arrau” in Chile, where she was awarded with a ‘Mention of Honor’ and ‘The Best Interpretation of the Compulsory Masterpiece’. Moreover, she won a student competition to perform with Universidad Nacional de Cuyo Symphonic Orchestra, playing the Ravel Piano concerto in G Major. Miss Bustelo’s recitals include solo and chamber music performances. Her repertoire spans from the early Baroque to the present, with special emphasis on the classics and Ravel. Lately she has committed to expand the music of her country abroad. She performs Tango, which is a music genre that she feels a strong bond with.
In Argentina, she developed as piano teacher in an artistic school and as accompanist of choirs, orchestra and solo instruments. She also participated in different seminars and master classes dictated throughout the country. Her experience as a choir accompanist has reached her to travel with the Children and Young’ choir of the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo to Brazil and throughout Argentina. At University of Florida, in USA, she was piano accompanist for the opera workshop and piano skill teacher for undergraduate students. At the present, she is living in Wageningen and working as piano accompanist and as private piano teacher.
Olaf Borsboom started playing the violin at the age of 12, and went to the Rotterdam Conservatory when he was 16. After his study (classical music) he played in the chamber orchestra ' L'estro Armonico ' in Hilversum, but he also started playing other musicstyles like folk, pop, Argentinian tangos, blues and bluegrass. Besides classical performances he also plays in a Medieval Folkband and a band that plays folk from all around the world.
