According to author and journalist Ralf Bodelier 10 billion people in 2065 is not by far the problem a lot of people claim it is. Bodelier poses, in an article published in a Dutch magazine, that the natural planetary boundaries are a-historic constructions of environmental experts, ecologists and biologists. But that in fact there never were, are and never will be any planetary boundary.

Louise Vet and Stijn van Gils reacted that plenty of evidence shows already that many of our natural resources are depleting. But it doesn’t help to ignore and downplay the problem. Only if we radically change the economic system and our dependency on ending resources, we will be able to overcome planetary boundaries.
