Goals of this day

Get informed

During the morning session we will offer short presentations of the community-funded projects of 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. You can access and watch the videos at your own pace, and engage in chat room discussions with the project leaders.

Get inspired

Before lunch we will offer two sessions to inspire you. First, we invite our artist-in-residence Arne Hendriks to present his view on the protein transition and to invite you to think from new angles. Second, we will engage in a panel discussion with policy-makers, philanthropic, and private-sector stakeholders on collaborating to accelerate the protein transition. Our guest speakers  include a representative from the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV), the science director of the non-profit Good Food Institute, and an industry leader and board member from Beyond Meat. We would like to raise your voice during the panel discussion, so please submit your questions when signing up for this session.

Get connected

After lunch we will split into smaller groups to ideate future research directions at WUR. You are invited to brainstorm on 2 out of 7 white spaces on protein transition. These white spaces were identified by the Good Food Institute (GFI) and/or WUR as areas where further development is needed. During the brainstorm, your group will be asked to outline a new direction for research. The teams with the highest potential concepts will be invited to develop project proposals for future funding calls at GFI or from the investment theme.
