Rich cultural Heritage reflected through Kandy Dalada Procession

In Wageningen UR and VHL University of Applied Siences, only two students represent Sri Lanka. That is why the students would like to show Sri Lankan culture by showing a short video on Kandy Dalada procession which shows rich cultural heritage in Sri Lanka through traditional dances, religious customs, traditional costumes and decorated elephants.

The Kandy Dalada procession is being conducted to pay homage to the Lord Buddha and to four local guardian gods. The procession is world famous Cultural and Religious pageant and it attracts thousands of tourists all over the world including Europeans in the month of July/August every year.The modern pageant dates back to 18th century however the procession was conducting from 4th century CE. Therefore, it has a long history.
