The global food system is expected to deliver on a formidable “triple challenge”: ensuring food security and nutrition; using natural resources sustainably, while contributing to climate change mitigation and adaptation; and providing a livelihood for farmers and other agents along the food chain. As part of its 2019-2020 Program of Work and Budget, the OECD Secretariat will look at the performance of the food system and at the role of policies in addressing this triple challenge.
