Small labels, big challenges: the science behind front-of-pack health labels

In the last decades, the number of food products offered to consumers has increased enormously. Front-of-pack health labels might be seen as an easy tool to help the consumer in making a healthier choice. However, there are a lot of challenges behind the development of such small labels.

In the last decades, the number of food products offered to consumers has increased enormously. Front-of-pack health labels might be seen as an easy tool to help the consumer in making a healthier choice. However, there are a lot of challenges behind the development of such small labels.

During this multi-disciplinary symposium, we will discuss the scientific and societal challenges around front-of-pack health labels. We will do this together with speakers from different disciplines of Wageningen University & Research in order to learn from each other’s perspectives and enrich each other’s research.

Researchers with an interest in food labels, healthy food production, nutrition, or influencing consumer choice are warmly invited to attend this symposium. To register for the symposium, please send an email to office.mst@wur.nl before Monday January 23.
