On Tuesday March 17 Sven Stremke will give a lecture at the University of Florence. It's part of the lecture series 'Open session on Landscape' given at the University from February 3rd until May 19th 2015.
Text from the booklet 'Open session on Landscape':
"Open Session on Landscape is a program of higher education consistent with the process of internationalization of teaching and research, and connected to multiple issues of Horizon 2020.
Created and curated by the curriculum in Landscape Architecture of the PhD in Architecture, University of Florence, the program is sponsored by the Department of Architecture, in collaboration with the Master Degree in Landscape Architecture and the Master in Landscaping of the same university.
The topics of the sessions make up a “story” on the theories, the design innovations, the cultural “provocations” of the most significant complex system of university teaching and professional practice existing today in Europe.
Following the success of the first edition in 2014, the programming content and the lecturers of this new cycle also confirm the aim of providing a professional qualified update for members of the Chamber of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists of Florence who request it, according to the agreement established in March 2014.
In this way the PhD program, the master and the master that in Florence deal specifically of Landscape Architecture, intend to promote a specialized educational path of international level, also creating a place of contact between different levels and educational profiles.
The international seminars see active cooperation with the universities of Barcelona (Universitat Autònoma De Barcelona Escola Tècnica Superior D’arquitectura De Barcelona – ETSAB, Universitat Politècnica De Catalunya – UPC), Wageningen (Wageningen UR – University & Research centre), Versailles (École Nationale Supérieure du Paysage – ENSP), Ghent (Sint Lucas School of Architecture in Ghent, KU Leuven, University of Ghent), Liegi (Faculté d’Architecture – Université De Liège),University of KU Leuven, Reggio Calabria (Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria) and with the Landscape Observatory of Catalonia (Observatori del Paisatge de Catalunya)."
