Aspects such as climate change and higher input cost affect the productivity level and quality of fresh fruit in Chile. Overcoming these problems requires farmers to make changes in their production system.

Adoption studies try to explain adoption rates of new technology and practices. While recognizing the influence of social capital and farmer networks, many of these studies focus on situations of a single farmer-owner as a decision maker. So they rather look at the external networks of farms instead of the internal networks (i.e. teams). However, in many places, larger teams managed by a farmer-owner operate farms. The presented study examines the influence of teamwork on technology and practice adoption and adaptation.
