Technology and development intervention: comparing experiences in Ethiopia and South East Asia

Rica Flor & Yenenesh Gebresilase (KTI)

Technological interventions are important in agricultural development. To realize the potential of technologies, extension programs use multiple technology options and engage networks. However, such programs still miss important targets.

Yenenesh Gebresilase and Rica Flor will use cases from Ethiopia and Southeast Asia to highlight outcomes when so-called ‘baskets of technologies’ are being promoted. They emphasize the importance of understanding the nature of the technologies, on-farm realities, the network involved, and market influences.
