The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands together with Wageningen University & Research (WUR) will organise a Wageningen Alumni Reception on 16 April 2018 at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Warsaw.
The Wageningen Alumni Reception is organised on the occasion of this year’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of WUR. To commemorate the contributions of Wageningen to science and education, a number of scientific and societal events within the domains Life, Food and Earth will take place all over the world. It offers students, staff and alumni the opportunity to reflect on past achievements and to be inspired by the future.
WUR has devoted itself to educate over 47.000 alumni in the domain of healthy food and living environment of which about 150 originate from Poland.
On this special occasion dr. Martin Scholten (Managing Director WUR Animal Sciences Group) will give a presentation titled “100-years WUR and how This Tiny Country Feeds the World”.
In addition, prof. Marek Szyndel from Warsaw University of Life Sciences will subsequently reflect on this theme and discuss the connections between the two universities. His presentation is titled "International cooperation in the frame of life and agricultural sciences, a case study of Wageningen University & Research and Warsaw University of Life Sciences".
After the presentations, there will be time to informally talk, reflect and look back on our joint time in Wageningen.
